National Broadband Network (NBN)

National

The National Broadband Network (NBN) is an Australian Government initiative to provide high-speed broadband access to 100 per cent of Australian homes and businesses, through a combination of fibre, wireless and satellite technologies.

To bring Australia into the digital future, supporting businesses and communities across the country and driving economic growth, Visionstream is NBN’s delivery partner in providing design, construct, commissioning and integration of this critical infrastructure.

Operating in all states and territories in Australia, Visionstream is responsible for various technical components of the network infrastructure build, including:

  • the installation and commissioning of exchange equipment forming the core infrastructure to connect fibre access nodes across Australia as part of the Transit Network

  • design and installation of fibre optic cable for new development estates across Victoria, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory and Queensland

  • design, construct and maintenance of high speed, fibre optic broadband to Tasmania

  • five-year Multi-Technology Integrated Master Agreement (MIMA) with NBN to construct fibre to the node and fibre to the premises connections across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

NBN have developed an extensive new infrastructure installation program, and through these many project components, Visionstream is a trusted partner for this multi-technology rollout.
